Sunsplash 2015 – An Evening of Feel Good Music
The Livescape Group’s exclusive beach party will take over Tanjong Beach Club in Singapore on May 16 in what is to be an intimate affair packed with activities to wrap up the weekend. The beach party promises a night of interesting company, chilled out environment and good music featuring Bob Marley’s legendary band, The Wailers and Adam Baluch supported by a host of local Singaporean acts which include:
- DJ NEZ
- Comic Strip
- Adam Baluch
- MASIA ONE and The Irietones
Singapore’s very own DJ NEZ is known for his ability to seamlessly spin music from smooth liquid styles to solid heavy rhythms; easily adapting to the crowd he is playing for. NEZ’s versatility enables him to play many styles of music from downtempo beats, classic hip hop & dub reggae, as well as the latest sounds in the Bass Music genre making him a force to be reckoned with in established nightspots in Singapore. NEZ will be the first act of the evening at Sunsplash to get the crowd in the mood by building the energy with his eclectic style.
Also set to liven up the beach, Comic Strip, an 8 piece sweet ska band which plays their own pop influenced ska music, combining reggae, swing and Latin melodies, making their brand of music memorable and a sure crowd pleaser. Comic Strip is made up of vocalist Shida, guitarist Razif, bassist Kazhendra, drummer Rizal, and Nazaruddin on keyboards. The group also consists of Sri “Nerdska” on trumpet, Shah on saxophone, and Khai on trombone. Comic Strip cites the likes of No Doubt, Save Ferris, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Reel Big Fish and The Cat Empire as their influences.
Opening for The Wailers is multi-talented UAE based musician, Adam Baluch. The alternative soul, one man band is known for his unique sound which combines a mixture of beatboxing, singing, guitar, keyboards and percussive sounds with a loop station. The singer songwriter cites Bach and Handel as his influences and mentions his opportunity to open for Lionel Richie in Dubai as the best gig he has ever performed. Adam has a distinctly Bohemian demeanour and dress sense. He was once been asked if he was trying to be Jack Sparrow.
MASIA ONE and the Irietones
Gracing the line up are MASIA ONE and the Irietones. MASIA ONE is a Singaporean-Canadian soul rebel who will be performing with The Irietones at Sunsplash bringing together a harmonious blend of reggae, dancehall and hiphop. The Irietones are Singapore’s very own Roots Rock Reggae band which consists of Izzat Yousoff on vocals & guitar, Firmann Salim on drums, Nadia Rosmaly on bass, Zul Rahmat on guitar, Ahmad Aidil on keyboard, Dinie Hakim on percussion, Aaron Vogt on trombone and Jay Ong on saxophone.
Apart from the music, a host of other activities are being planned to take place at the inaugural Sunsplash. This includes beach sports such as beach volleyball, and beach soccer. In addition, there will also be a power yoga session on the beach which fans can participate in.
